Ebonstone Announces B-Corp Certification!


Ebonstone Certifies as a B-Corporation! 

 

Governance and Company Secretarial Services firm Ebonstone is delighted to announce its certification as a B-Corporation (B-Corp), joining a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. Ebonstone has been certified by B-Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B-Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit. 

This embedded approach to the operation of our business truly reflects our peoples’ personal values and purpose, running alongside our day-to-day work. It is what ultimately led us to seek out B-Corp certification……..living what we believe in!

Our journey through the B-Corp certification process addressed the entirety of our business’ operations, covering five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process was rigorous and required us to reach a high benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to areas such as energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, Ebonstone legally embedded our commitment to purpose beyond profit within our company articles. 

Ebonstone is now part of a community of 7,000 businesses globally who have certified as B-Corps. The B-Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, comprises over 1,500 companies and includes well-known brands such as The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, The Body Shop and organic food pioneers Abel & Cole. 

Recent attention on how companies manage and report their governance requirements makes Ebonstone’s B-Corp certification a notable step and signals a shift towards even greater accountability and transparency for all businesses, and better equips us to embed positive, meaningful change within our current and future clients.
